Yet another reason I love the holidays – it’s prime time to indulge in delicious, unique wines.  But here’s the thing… I secretly love sweet wine but feel embarrassed to be the person who brought the Riesling.  In one of my favorite new discoveries, I’m tickling my sweet tooth with a Sauternes. With this varietal, there’s no need to be ashamed 😉

Sauternes is a French sweet wine from the Sauternais region of the Graves section in Bordeaux. Sauternes is made from Sémillon, Sauvignon blanc, and Muscadelle grapes that have been affected by Botrytis cinerea, also known as noble rot.
